E-tales - Email Quick Notification

Please see the note at the bottom of this page titled "E-tales Is Not Spam."

Larson introduced E-tales in 2006 to keep PTA members and families informed. When situations and fast notification are needed, PTA members, who sign up for E-tales, receive a mass e-mail regarding Larson news and events. At the beginning of the 2008-2009 school year, an outside contractor began the process of the E-tales mass emailings.

If you wish to add your e-mail address to the E-tales list, put information like this:
  • Our name is John and Jane Doe.
  • Our child named Ann Doe is in the 2nd grade at Larson.
  • Please add us to the E-tales emailing list.
  • Into the body of an email and send your email to the address below or just Click the Icon to open an email:

    larsonpta @ gmail.com

Using the "from email address" in your email, you will be added to the Larson PTA E-tales mass emailing list.

Note - "E-tales Is Not Spam"

Some parents have found their E-tales to be in their Spam or Junk mail folders instead of their Inbox. This often occurs with mass emails (emails with a large number of addressees and "Bcc" copy applications). There are settings that you can make to avoid this - also, it is possible that other good email is being received in your Spam or Junk Folders depending on the settings of your email system. ISP's, email providers, email programs, and web based email systems have made many changes in recent years and months to combat Spam and Junk mail. However, to fully take advantage of some of these combative changes, settings may have to be adjusted.

Some email programs or browser based web mail systems may identify E-tales as spam or junk email. Therefore, it is recommended that you add these TWO email addresses to your email address book and take the following action:
  • larsonpta @ gmail.com - This is the Larson PTA email address used in this web site.
    AND
  • info@ancomm.com - This is the mass emailing contractor address for Larson Elementary.
  • Be sure your email program or browser based web mail system is set to identify email from addresses in your address book as being not spam or junk. Thus, you will receive responses from these two addresses normally in your inbox and they will not be directed to a spam or junk folder.

Also, it is recommended that you investigate the possibility of other spam or junk mail filtering being done by your ISP, your email provider, and/or your email program that may affect email from these two addresses and take appropriate action.

To date, it has been found that settings with the email providers such as AT&T/Yahoo, Gmail, and Hotmail can be made online to better deal with Spam and Junk. There are obviously other providers that have like settings. Additionally, it has been found that settings in the email programs Outlook Express, Windows Live Mail, and Thunderbird deal with the Spam and Junk issues.
