In Memory, Robby Nash"As I wrote the above from Nancy's phone call and Rose's email, my mind flashed back to my memories of Robby. I vividly recall him playing that shinny Sousaphone and marching in that blue, gray, and white uniform with that plumed hat covering that flattop and ducktails. I remember him playing the piano as an accompanist to Eileen playing the clarinet for a competition. He was selected as Most Talented by our class - there was no denying that he was the only one for that title. I remember the time he and I had to do a skit from some poem in Mrs. Ogle's class. We had to have torch props so we went the restroom on the westside of the red building and unscrewed two 250W clear bulbs so we could each hold one as a torch (yes, we put them back). I can still see him driving his folks' black 1956 Chevy hardtop four door with the continental kit. I remember being shocked when I learned he had eloped to Oklahoma - especially when I had double dated with him the night before. Then, I was shocked more when he told me he was going to graduate after the first semester. We all missed him that second semester but he came back and walked across the stage with us in May 1959. You know, I guess it is memories like these that have tied us all together these many years making CHS 1959 unlike any other class. God Speed Robby, Steve Greetings & Welcome to CHS 1959's Site"![]() 50th Reunion Event on the Square, May 15, 2009
